A massive Garda alert is in place after a criminal walked free from prison last night.
Gardaí believed the man may offer himself as a hitman-for-hire to gangsters involved in the Hutch-Kinahan feud.
Officers have established that 16 people - including a Garda and a number of women - are under immediate threat from the man considered the one of the country's most dangerous criminals.
The south inner city gangster, aged in his 30s cannot be named for legal reasons.
Among the 16 people being warned are former associates and relatives of people who gave evidence against him.
These people are based across Dublin, with some also being abroad.
