Cigarettes thought to be worth €3.5m have been seized by officers at Dublin Port.
They were hidden in a container which arrived on a ship from Vietnam, via Rotterdam last night.
The container, which was said to contain 'paper', was searched with a mobile x-ray scanner.
A total of almost 6.5 million smuggled cigarettes were seized in total.
Revenue say they have carried out follow-up searches in Roscommon and Waterford, with a view to prosecution.
