Eighteen people were arrested around Dublin shopping centres yesterday during a day-long Garda crime crackdown.
Gardaí targeted the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Swords and the Omni Centre in Santry and worked with storeowners and security staff at the centres as part of Operation Thor.
Yesterday's operation focused on warrant execution, checkpoints, public relations and arrests.
The eighteen people arrested in the lead up to the crackdown had outstanding warrants while the the five cars that were seized were found to be in breach of Road Traffic Acts in and around the shopping centres.
Inside the shopping centres, Garda Public Relations stands were in place and crime prevention advice was provided to members of the public.
