The new metropolitan mayor of Limerick wants to ban biscuits, cream buns and scones from their council meetings.
Seán Lynch, who took over the role last month, wants to can the custard creams in favour of fruit, crackers and more healthy options.
He said without the change they'll all end up as diabetics - and that they need to set an example.
In an interview with the Limerick Leader, Cllr Lynch referenced the early start of meetings and argued "the last thing you want at that hour of the morning is biscuits".
He added: "They’re going to have to look at bringing in crackers and cheese and a bit of fruit."
Another councillor shot down the idea, saying it's up to individuals to make their own choice - suggesting a coffee or a scone "is not over and above".
Cllr Lynch also wants to meet with Ed Sheeran's management, to find out why Limerick was overlooked on the singer's recently announced Irish tour. The tour currently includes gigs in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast.
