A swarm of flies has descended on Irishtown, Ringsend and Sandymount. Dublin City Council is trying to figure out what's going on.
Labour Senator Kevin Humphreys has told 98FM News he's been inundated with complaints from locals.
"One lady told me she had to lie down with a book over her face because there were just so many flies in her home and she was really distressed by it."
The infestation means locals have had to keep the windows of their homes and businesse shut during the muggy weather.
Local woman Patsy rang in to 98FM's Dublin Talks to say it's an infestation like she's never witnessed before, and she used to live beside the dump that operated beside the former Glass Bottle site.
"You start cooking and taking meat out of the fridge and the next thing, they're everywhere! They're coming onto the plate when you're eating. You're actually watching down the table and hoovering the floor after eating because the minute you leave thing out, they're in."
