Lidl has been given permission to build what it calls a state-of-the-art store in Castleknock. After a two year planning process, the supermarket chain has been given the green light by An Bord Pleanála.
The store will be built as part of a "mixed development" and Alan Barry, Director of Property said he is pleased planning bosses have recognised that it "will contribute positively to the local area."
"Together with our architects and planners we have designed a development to the highest standards which I believe complements the area and provides suitable amenities for the local community."
Lidl says it will hold an open evening for the local community before any construction works begin. Lidl's 151st Irish store opens in Cabra tomorrow.
