The way has finally been cleared to bulldoze Apollo House. It's to be replaced with an 10 storey office block.
The decision to demolish Apollo House was appealed to An Bord Pleanála earlier this year.
The 1960s office block has often been dubbed one of Dublin's ugliest buildings but over Christmas last year it became a beacon after it was occupied by housing activists.
Now along with its neighbour, Hawkins House, it will be flattened in favour of creating a new office quarter with shops, restaurants and a public plaza.
The planning authority envisages it as being a "mid-town" area of Dublin (midtown being an office district in New York.)
They've ruled the development can go ahead but they've capped the height at ten floors.
