Armed garda reportedly prevented a Kinahan cartel bid to murder a member of the Hutch family.
Special detectives swooped on a car at around 10 o'clock on Friday night.
Two men in their 20s were arrested and a Glock handgun and two other vehicles were seized in a follow up search.
Now according to The Irish Independent this morning the raid meant detectives had foiled a planned gangland hit on a relative of Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch.
Meanwhile The Irish Times reports the murder of Mark 'The Guinea Pig' Desmond in Lucan last year may be connected to the Hutch Kinahan feud.
Gardai believe he made threats against a man working for the drug cartel before he was ambushed and murdered in December 2016.
