The School Students For Choice Organisation and ROSA have organised a protest outside the Dáil in relation to the sectioning of a teenage girl seeking an abortion.
A psychiatrist treating the girl said she was at risk of suicide due to her pregnancy but termination "was not the solution".
Protesters who are marching now said they want to send a clear message to Varadkar that they will not tolerate this treatment from the State.
Megan Brady, one of the founders of School Students For Choice and a member of ROSA said, "We’re not going to wait any longer".
Talking about the young girl, "She wanted to end her life because of the pregnancy and still couldn’t get an abortion”.
“There is a lot of anger in Irish society and we want the amendment repealed now”.
She wants the protest today to attract younger people such as teenagers because that’s the generation these laws affect.
