A body has been found by rescuers searching for a man missing off the coast of Skerries. He'd gone fishing with his uncle yesterday.
Helicopters, boats and trawlers all got involved in the search, which began yesterday when a small fishing boat sank. One man was pulled from the water soon after, and taken to hospital but a second person couldn't be located.
After being called off for the night, the search continued this morning and a body was found about 500m from the pier. The man, who was 28 and from the area, has been named locally as Jamie McAllister.
He'd been fishing with his uncle, who's now recovering in hospital.
The Irish Naval Vessel the LE Niamh, RNLI lifeboats, local fishing trawlers and a number of Irish Coastguard helicopter units were all involved in the search.
The Air Corps CASA was also been tasked to assist, which had a range of search equipment on board, including forward looking infrared, and a high powered camera system.
