Beaumont Hospital is hiring debt collectors to chase millions of euro in treatment fees.
They are targeting charges due from road traffic accident patients.
Beaumont treats a higher number of crash patients because of its neurosurgery specialities.
Now according to the Herald, the facility is tendering for a debt collection service to try to get back fees over the next 4 years.
The tender states that the debt services include correspondence with the patient, next of kin, solicitor and injuries board in a bid to recover the cost of treatment.
The charge for A and E for road accidents for someone seeking compensation is €446 compared to the normal €100 euro.
The most recent annual report shows the facility is due around €17 million in charges from patients although it's not clear how much related to crashes.
