A 28 year old man has appeared in court charged with the possession of a handgun.
It follows a major firearms seizure at the Greenogue Industrial Estate in Rathcoole earlier this year.
15 firearms, 1,300 rounds of ammunition and a substantial amount of cash were found when gardai searched a warehouse on January the 24th.
This morning, 28 year old Sean Ruth with an address at Watermarque, Browning Street, Birmingham in the UK appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with the possession of one rossi revolver at the Greenogue Industrial Estate in Rathcoole at a date unknown.
Det Sgt Paul Curran from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau told Judge David McHugh that the accused was charged at 7.40pm last night at Clondalkin Garda Station.
The court heard he replied ‘no comment’ after being cautioned.
There was no application for bail and the accused was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
The accused who was dressed in a white zip up hoody and navy tracksuit bottoms didn’t speak during the brief hearing.
The man was arrested last Sunday in Co. Wexford.
Three other men are already before the courts charged in connection with the case.
