A group that helps the homeless says it counted 138 people sleeping on the streets of Dublin earlier this month. That is the highest ever recorded for this time of year.
Latest figures show 138 people slept on the streets of Dublin on the night of April 4th, which is a 35% increase in a year.
Pat Doyle from The Peter McVerry Trust says he's disappointed but not surprised "with the addition of 220 beds that came in over Christmas, we would have hoped that the number would have been down".
However, he explains the figure has risen simply because "more people are coming into homelessness".
