There may be disruption to Dublin Bus and Irish Rail services this lunchtime.
Workers are expected to join a protest of Bus Eireann staff this afternoon who remain on strike over cost-cutting measures at the company.
Their demonstration will coincide with the Transport Minister Shane Ross' appearance at the Oireachtas Transport Committee.
There are new calls for him to intervene amid fears the all-out strike at Bus Éireann could spread to other CIE companies like Irish Rail and Dublin Bus.
SIPTU says it will ballot it's CIE members to strike in solidarity with their colleagues while the NBRU say that the longer the strike continues, the more likely it is that workers at the CIE companies will stage a wild cat strike.
