Dublin Circuit Criminal Court’s heard a woman reversed into the smoking area of a well known pub while a man was clutching onto the car.
The Judge was told in January 2015 a man was driving close to the Dropping Well pub in Milltown with his wife when he saw a woman driving a Mercedes erratically.
The driver then came up behind him at speed blowing the horn and drove into the back of him.
He got out of his car and walked towards the Merc but it reversed and rammed into his car again.
The man opened the Merc door and shouted at the female driver to get out.
But she reversed again at speed - while he still hand his arm on the roof - and went into the smoking area of the Dropping Well pub.
Glass surrounding the smoking area was smashed in and the man was pinned up against the well.
A crowd gathered around them but he asked them to not to touch him.
34 year old Helen Hourigan of Moreen Avenue in Sandyford pleaded guilty to criminal damage and the theft of the Mercedes.
The court heard the mum of four had been addicted to drugs at the time of the incident following the death of her brother.
She was sentenced to 2 and a half years in jail with the final year suspended.
