An 18 year old man has been charged with the murder of David ‘Daithi’ Douglas.
The 55 year old dad of one was gunned down on Bridgefoot Street in the Liberties on the 1st of July 2016.
He became another victim of the current gangland feud when he was shot a number of times outside a shop owned by his wife.
This morning, Nathan Foley (18) of Rosary Road appeared before the Dublin District Court charged with his murder.
The court heard he was charged at 10.30am at the court and the Judge was told he made no reply after caution.
He’s also been charged with the criminal damage of a car on Strand road on the 4th of July 2016.
The Judge was told the book of evidence was ready and it was served in respect of both charges.
The accused has been remanded in custody to appear before a sitting of the non-jury Special Criminal Court.
The court heard the accused man is not working and he was assigned legal aid.
A second man, Freddie Thompson (36) of Loreto Road, Maryland in Dublin 8, has already been charged with David Douglas’ murder.
He appeared before Cloverhill District Court again this morning in connection with the shooting and has been sent forward for trial at the non-jury Special Criminal Court.
