The Taoiseach is to meet US President Donald Trump today in the White House for the annual St. Patrick's Day ceremony.
Enda Kenny's ruled out an apology to Trump after he described his comments last year as "racist and dangerous".
Mr. Kenny says he was talking about the candidate and not the man and believes there's no need for tension when he meets him in the Oval Office to hand over the traditional bowl of shamrock.
Enda's first stop is breakfast with US Vice President Mike Pence who believes that Trump might tell the Taoiseach he wants to visit Ireland soon.
It's understood that Mr. Kenny is to propose the allocation of 10,500 US visas for Irish citizens as part of an immigration reform package.
