The management company at Beacon South Quarter has voted in favour of a fund to start fire safety works at the apartments.
The repairs, that could cost owners up to €15,000 each, are necessary to bring the homes up to scratch and residents could face legal action if the works are not carried out.
Apartment owners heard at a meeting last night that Dublin Fire Brigade has ordered a fire assessment of all blocks after the fire safety defects were discovered along with water damage.
The management company was asked to enter mediation with the construction companies before residents have to fork out or that the State bear some of the cost burden.
The overall bill for repairs is more than €10 million.
