St James hospital is one of the best in the country for ambulance turnaround times.
Just 5 of 34 hospitals were able to get patients processed in a reasonable time frame.
The target is for half of all ambulances to be turned around in 20 minutes allowing emergency services to be available for their next call.
However according to the Irish Times, the targets were missed by 29 out of 34 hospital across the country.
Aside from the Dublin maternity hospitals, St James had the best record and was the only major acute hosptial to hit its target.
Ambulances had to wait over an hour to transfer patients on more than 1500 occassions in January due to continuing delays at emergency departments.
