Planning permission for the new National Maternity Hospital will be submitted to An Bord Pleanála today.
It's moving from Holles Street to the site of St. Vincent's hospital on the southside.
This planning application comes at the end of a long row between the two hospitals about how the new facilty will be run.
The project will be the largest single investment ever to be made in maternity services in Ireland.
It was originally meant to cost €150 million but the bill is now expected to be up to €300 million.
Once built it will have state-of-the-art facilities including 24 delivery rooms, 5 operating theatres, and 50 neonatal and special care rooms.
It will cater for up to 10,000 births a year.
