Gardai say they're anxious to speak to a number of people who may have vital information about Wednesday night's fatal hit and run in Coolock.
28 year old Karl Robertson was out jogging when he was hit by a white Renault Megane van at Hazelwood Drive in Kilmore shortly after 9.45pm.
The victim received medical assistance before being taken to Beaumont Hospital where he died last night.
The driver fled the scene and the van was found burnt out at Beechlawn Grove, close to Parnell's GAA club, a short time later.
The driver in his 30s has been speaking voluntarily to Gardai but he is no longer helping them with their inquiries.
Superintendant Gerard Donnelly says there are a number of people they are very anxious to make contact with.
The first is a pedestrian in his 20s who may not be from Ireland, who interacted with those who came to Karl's aid, and who suggested he had seen what happened.
A couple who were out walking in the area at the time of the collision are also being asked to come forward.
Supt Donnelly would also like to speak to a taxi driver who may have picked up a man in his early 30s on the Oscar Traynor Road shortly after 10pm and taken that fare to the Kilbarron Road area.
They are asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01 6664200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
