Fire fighters have called off their strike planned for later this month.
It's after the Lord Mayor intervened in the row with city council management over the breaking up of Dublin Fire Brigade's ambulance service.
Both sides have agreed to independent talks chaired by former Workplace Relations Commission chief Kieran Mulvey.
A SIPTU and IMPACT trade union statement welcomes the invitation by Lord Mayor Brendan Carr's to hold talks.
"The management of Dublin City Council has also given an unequivocal commitment that this process will be the sole and singular forum for consideration of all of these issues... This outcome has been achieved as a result of the commitment and solidarity of union members in Dublin Fire Brigade, as well as the overwhelming support they have received from the public and their elected representatives."
