Gardai in Dublin are clamping down on people illegaly parking in disabled spots.
They're teaming up with the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland.
It's after an increase in drivers illegally parking in disabled bays and misusing parking permits.
Extra traffic volumes and ongoing construction in the city are being blamed for the recent surge.
Richard Ryder of the DDAI says "the most common excuse given by motorists illegally parking in disabled bays is ‘I’ll only be a minute’ or ‘I’ll move if somebody comes along.' But that's never the case and illegal parking like this causes genuine misery.”
The penalty for parking in a disabled spot is €80 rising to €120 if it's not paid withing 28 days.
Using a permit that's not yours is subject to a fine of up to €2000 and a three month jail term.
