UCD is to convert accommodation containing 40 student beds into high end seminar rooms for corporate weekend courses.
The Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School based at its Blackrock campus, is looking to double the number of executive development courses it offers.
The university is spending €2.5 million to convert the bedrooms into seminar and breakout rooms.
A spokesman for the university said: "The colleges new policy is to consolidate all future under graduate student on-campus accommodation at Belfield"
A 354 bed accommodation block on the main campus and a further 3000 on-campus places are planned.
This will bring the number of places at Belfield to more than 6000, almost a quarter of the student population.
