Cracking down on illegal dumping in going high-tech.
Drones are to be used to tackle fly-tipping with a campaign being launched next month.
According to the Herald, plans are also in place to use satellite imaging and more CCTV in locations prone to dumping.
Around €2 million has been allocated for the recruitment of extra enforcement officers at the Environmental Protection Agency.
The problem of illegal dumping has grown steadily in recent years with Dublin City Council spending around €650,000 euro a year cleaning up 2600 tonnes of illegal waste.
The average number of complaints in the city alone is 8000 every year.
