A court has heard that Finglas teenager, Daniel McAnaspie, had been punched by a man on the night he disappeared. 17 year old Daniel McAnapsie had been under the care of the HSE when he was last seen in the early hours of February the 26th 2010.
He had been drinking with a group of people in Blanchardstown including the accused Richard Dekker and another man called Trevor Noone.
Soon after his disappearance, gardai called to see Richard Dekker who told them he just knew Daniel McAnaspie to see and called him ‘Dano.’
He said at one stage Daniel was mouthing off and was being the ‘hard man ‘ and was talking about someone he had been fighting in Finglas .
It turned out the man Daniel had been fighting was related to Trevor Noone – and on hearing this Mr Noone turned around and punched Daniel.
The court heard Richard Dekker told gardai the men made up after that - he said he went home when he had finished all his beers and Daniel walked off and he didn’t know where.
Daniel’s remains were found three months later in a drain in Meath. 30 year old Richard Dekker of Dublin 15 denies Daniel's murder at Tolka Valley Park in Blanchardstown.
