A model who featured on First Dates Ireland has avoided a jail sentence for harassing Dylan McGrath. Daphney Sanasie has been ordered to stay away from the celebrity chef and have no contact with him.
A relieved Daphney Sanasie has been told she won’t receive any jail time or a criminal conviction for harassing Dylan McGrath. The South African model who appeared on the first series of First Dates Ireland had gone on two dates with the celebrity chef in early 2015.
But he became fed up of her messaging him later that year and went to gardai when she refused to leave him alone. The 26 year old of Jamestown Road pleaded guilty to harassing the celebrity chef on various dates in 2015 .
She said she was under the influence of alcohol when she made any unwanted contact. The Judge said the messages didn’t reach the threshold for a conviction. He added that Dylan McGrath had sent Ms Sanasie one message that was unacceptable in most people’s eye. It was impolite and she was hurt by it.
Daphney Sanasie said she’s glad the case is over and thanked those who supported her. "To be honest I am very delighted with the entire outcome".
"I would like to thank Gerald Keane and all my fans, who have sent me lovely messages", she added.
Daphney Sanasie added she had no hard feelings towards the celebrity chef and there had been a misunderstanding with everything.
