With the Leinster lads holding court at the start of our Mansion House Roadshow with Heineken Rugby Club, the Munster legends also got their turn.
Alan Quinlan, Denis Leamy and Marcus Horan shared the stage to tell a few tales from their days as a Heineken Cup-winning outfit and beyond.
Many of those stories involved moments when things boiled over and one finally involved a big reveal: The identity of a so-called Munster Mr X from a training scuffle between Quinlan and Horan 10 years ago.
"There was a bit of an argument at training, it got fairly heated. I was involved in a scuffle with someone," said Quinlan, joking that "it was totally unlike me" to get involved in heated scenes on the field.
"I felt a couple of punches. I was on the ground, scuffling with someone I think. It was in a line-out and I felt a couple of punches graze the back of my head and I remember getting up thinking, 'Who was that?' I just want to find out who that was."
Mr X was the man who told Quinlan that Horan was the chap who threw a few digs his way!
With neither Columbo or Inspector Clouseau on hand to solve the mystery, Quinlan initially looked to get vengeance on Horan after the training session, although his then team-mate didn't appear to be the culprit and told him as much!
"I kept saying to Marcus, 'Well, I was told by Mr X that you tried to hit me' and he was denying it," Quinlan continued.
"Marcus still doesn't know who Mr X is to this day. We ended up shaking hands. Mr X still hasn't been revealed."
But prodded by Joe Molloy, Quinlan finally revealed Mr X to be none other than "the one and only John 'The Bull' Hayes."
Finally provided with the information he'd awaited for a dozen years, Horan jokingly proclaimed himself "disgusted".
