Higher earners are facing tax hikes in tomorrow's Budget.

That's the hint from the Transport Minister ahead of what's expected to be the toughest Budget in 25 years.

Noel Dempsey made his comments as he opened the new Clondalkin-Fonthill train station in the west of the city, the first transport 21 station to open on the line.

The Minister says the Government is aiming to protect the more vunerable in society.
