The HSE is contacting all hospitals across the country to make sure x rays are being reviewed..
It follows the misdiagnosis controversy at Tallaght Hospital wherby 58 thousand x rays weren’t reviewed over five years leading to the death of one patient while another was is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Anyone who’s concerned that their x ray or their families x ray wasn’t looked at properly is being advised to ring 1800 283 059.
An invesigation has now been launched to establish how this could have happened.
Attention from the cancer blunder at Tallaght Hospital is now turning to the Health Minister, who’s currently visiting New Zealand for St Patrick’s Day.
The Taoiseach has defended Mary Harney and the HSE, but Fine Gael wants the Minister recalled, while Labour Leader Eamon Gilmore wants her sacked.
