Fine Gael is calling for the resignation of any board members on the Dublin Dockland’s Authority who allowed a culture of excess to exist.
Newspaper reports claim the authority racked up almost half a million euro in expenses to fund luxury travel, expensive meals and fine wines, and the revelations come at a time when the DDDA has accumulated losses of more €200 million euro.
Fine Gael’s Environment Spokesperson Phil Hogan said Minister John Gormely has to get rid of those who allowed this to carry on. “Any member of the board that were part of the regime that ratcheted up this considerable lifestyle of travel and expenses around the globe” he began. When asked if he was calling for their resignation from the board, he replied “Yes, yes”.
