Connacht recorded a remarkable win over Leinster in their Magner's League clash at the Sportsgrounds tonight winning 19-8.

It was a case of a battle of the boot in the opening half with both out-halves in top form as the teams went in level 9-9 at the break.

It remained tight in the second period before a telling try from Mike McCarthy proved a crucial turning point as Connacht erased the memory of last weekends 58 point defeat.

Felipe Contepomi grabbed 6 penalties for Leinster on his 100th cap but it wasnt enough as McCarthy's try and 14 points from the boot of Ian Keatley secured an historic victory.
