The GAA Player of the Year shortlist has been revealed. All Ireland Champion sides Kilkenny and Tyrone have two of the three nominees in their respective codes. Eddie Brennan and Eoin Larkin join Waterford star Eoin Kelly in the nominations for the hurling award. Tyrone’s Brian Dooher and Sean Cavanagh are nominated alongside Kerry’s Colm Cooper for the football equivalent. In the Young Player of the Year category, Cathal Naughton of Cork, Joe Canning of Galway and Seamus Callinan of Tipperary are the hurling nominees. On the football shortlist are Limerick’s Ian Ryan, Johnny O’Loughlin from Laois - and Tommy Walsh, from Kerry.
