Work on Metro North will start in 2021 and it should be up and running six years later.
The Transport Minister's confirmed it's full steam ahead for the long awaited rail line.
Yesterday the government announced a €7.5bn investment programme which includes the Metro North project.

Around 680 million will be spent on rail infrastructure which will allow the Luas and Dart to expand.
Over 4 billion will also be spent on roads and removing bottlenecks.
Metro North was first put forward as an idea back in 2001 before being shelved when the economy tanked.
