A murder investigation is underway today after a woman was murdered in Dublin last night. The 37 year old was killed at an apartment after a suspected domestic incident.
At around 11.30 last night gardaí in Mountjoy got a call about an incident at the Dorset Square Apartments on Gardiner St Upper.
Arriving at the scene they found a 37 year old French woman and a 35 year old Brazilian man with serious injuries.
They were treated at the scene - and the man was brought to the Mater Hospital where he's being treated for serious injuries.
The woman died at the scene and the garda technical bureau have been on site for most of the day.
Some neighbours speaking to the media said they didn't hear any noises last night.
Earlier the DSPCA removed a pet cat from the scene, which remains sealed off as the garda investigation continues.
The scene's been sealed off for a forensic examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
Our reporter at the scene has been speaking to residents. They say they didn't hear any disturbance last night, and were shocked to learn of the death this morning.
