Two men have been arrested by Gardai investigating two hijackings and two armed robberies. The drama unfolded in Palmerstown and Tallaght yesterday morning.
Two men burst into a service station in Palmerstown yesterday morning, and demanded staff hand over money.
They'd used a crowbar and screwdriver. Less than two hours later staff at a shop in Killinarden were held up by two men armed with a hammer a garden shears, but the raiders fled the premises empty handed.
The car used in both incidents, a silver hatchback, was discovered burnt out in the Shankill area, where another car was hijcked.
Gardaí spotted that car, a black hatchback, in Rathfarnam a while later and called in the Armed Support Unit to help in a chase.
The suspects jumped out in Saggart, and were arrested while trying to run away. They're both being held at Tallaght Garda station.
