The country is bracing itself for Storm Dylan, which is due to hit later tonight.
A Status Orange wind warning is in place for the West and North West, while there's a Status Yellow warning for much of the rest of the country.
The orange alert is in place for Connacht as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath and Meath.
It's in effect from 9pm tongiht until 6am on Sunday, New Year's Eve.
Met Eireann says the biggest impact from the storm will be across Connacht and Ulster where winds will reach speeds of up to 120km/h.
At the same time in Dublin, a Status Yellow wind warning is in place and we can expect wind speeds of up to 100 km/h on Saturday night and early on New Year's Eve.
The yellow alert is also in place for Munster, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Offaly.
