The Defence Forces have deployed around 250 troops across the country so they can help HSE staff get to work and visit house bound patients.
Commandant Pat O'Connor says "we're delighted to support the HSE around the country. We were able to bring key medical staff who are doing such important work. And also with the like of palliative care nurses; helping them to get out to see patients means so much (to the people in their care) so we were delighted to help them."
