Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for Dublin and several parts of the country tomorrow.
The snow-ice warning is valid from 6 o'clock tomorrow evening for all of Leinster - as well as the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary and Waterford.
Some areas could be hit by up to 3cm of snow.
John Eagleton, weather forecaster with Met Éireann, describes what's happening "There's a front moving across the country tomorrow evening. It's not terribly active, I have to say, but it is cold behind it particularly, We think that may give some sleet and snow throughout the country".
Met Éireann have advised that this could lead to treacherous driving conditions for motorists.
"I think the raods in Tuesday morning will be tricky. Even if the amount of snow is limited they will be wet after the outbreaks of rain, it will be very cold and temperatures will drop. So untreated roads will be icy on Tuesday morning."
