Slum landlords are removing bunks from overcrowded homes before they're inspected by local authorities.
That's according to an exposé in The Herald which claims some rogue property owners are pouring cement over leaking sewage so it can't be identified.
It's reported there is a group of landlords that are pocketing up to €10,000 euro per household by cramming people into bedrooms.
One property in Clontarf was split into 14 bedrooms. Other homes, where up to 30 people are living together, are in Blackrock, Rathmines, Dundrum, Shankill, Ranelagh, Rialto and Tallaght.
The Herald has seen a correspondence between the group of rogue landlords where they discuss ordering bags of cement to pour over leaking sewage, before a Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is carried out.
