Tests are being carried out on remains, believed to be human, which have been found in the Wicklow Mountains. They were discovered near Glenmacanass Waterfall close to where a male torso was found on Saturday night.
60 members of the Defence Forces are helping gardai search a 30km stretch of the area to see if more remains can be found.
It's understood they could belong to a man, possibly in his 20s or older, who may have been dead for a week or slightly longer.
Superintendent Pat Ward from Bray Garda Station said: "The cause of death hasn't been determined just yet. Further examinations and inquiries are being carried out."
He added: "We're not focusing our investigation in any particular direction but obviously one of them that we will be looking at is that it may be gangland related."
It's not yet known whether the two discoveries are connected.
