Polling stations around the country have opened in the historic referendum on abortion.
Voters are being asked if they want to repeal the 8th amendment, which gives women and the unborn an equal right to life.
Voting yes will remove it from the constitution. Voting no means our abortion laws will remain in place.
Chairperson of the Referendum Commission, Ms Justice Isobel Kennedy, is urging citizens to have their voices heard.
"The important thing to do today is to decide when you are going to vote, and then vote. Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm. Our message is simple. The debate is over and now everyone should make sure their voice is heard."
