An extra splash of colour will be added to Phoenix Park this summer when hundreds of people take part in a charity run.
The Colour Dash is a 5k run, which will raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. The Dublin leg of the fundraiser will be held on June 17th.
Averil Power, Chief Executive of the Irish Cancer Society said, “As the number of Irish people with cancer increases, record numbers are turning to the Irish Cancer Society for information, care and support. Only two per cent of our funding comes from the State."
"We are therefore hugely dependent on money raised through events like Colour Dash to fund vital lifesaving cancer research and services such as our Night Nurses, Volunteer Drivers and Freephone Cancer Nurseline", she said.
Since 2016 Aldi have supported the Irish Cancer Society to raise thousands of euro through Colour Dash and other fundraising events.
Aldi Ireland’s Group Buying Director Finbar McCarthy described it as a "wonderful event for a cause that is close to the hearts of our customers and staff."
Registration is €30 per person, and €5 for children under 12 and you can sign up here.
