1,032 homes and businesses in the Leeson Street area were without power for a short time afternoon.
ESB Networks say there was a fault on the line and have apologised to customers for the disruption.
It had been estimated it could take hours for the connection to be restored but in the end the outage was only for about fifteen minutes.
It's was second major outage in the area in less than four weeks.
Earlier this month over 900 customers were affected including Vodafone.
It caused the phone company's network to go down for a number hours.
