Dún Laoghaire's old ferry passenger terminal is going to be turned into a digital technology hub.
Permission has been granted for a twenty million euro development, called the Harbour Innovation Campus.
It's hoped the building will become home to leading global companies, with room for around a thousand workers.
Those behind the project hope it will become a "one-stop shop" for companies that want to rapidly apply advances in areas like artificial intelligence, augmented reality and 5G.
The internal fit out of the building is expected to start next month, and it will be ready to open in Spring 2019.
Philip Gannon, the founder, CEO and private investor behind the project, said "a place where people used to go to emigrate will now become world-class innovation space that will showcase Ireland’s capabilities in technology, create employment and bring social and economic prosperity".
