The brick is back. Nokia has unveiled its new-look 3310.

First released in September 2000, the 3310 was known for its long lasting battery life and being able to take many a knock and drop without failing.

Second-hand versions are available to buy online, but in a bid to cash in on fans of everything retro, Nokia is going to start making the handsets again. It's expected many people will buy them as "second" phones for things like festivals.

The refreshed version will sell for €49. The new 3310 qualifies as a "feature phone" rather than a smartphone as it relies on 2.5G connectivity - which has slower data speeds than 3G or 4G.

Its makers says the colour-screened phone has up to a month's standby time and delivers more than 22 hours of talk time. And great news for Snake fans, it comes with a modern version of the classic game pre-installed.

“This is what consumers have been asking us for, and so we decided that we’d just do it and have some fun with it, said Florian Seiche, president of HMD. “That’s the unique opportunity we have here at HMD with the Nokia brand.”
