Nine buskers in the City Centre were ordered to pay 600 euro in fines last year.

The Herald reports all of the street performers paid their 75 euro penalties, with none of the cases going to court.

2017 was the first full year of the permit system in the capital, which attaches several rules to busking.

Street performances must stay below 80 decibels and amps are banned from certain parts of Temple Bar.

Other regulations include playing a range of songs instead of the same few over and over again, while buskers can only spend an hour on Grafton Street before they have to move on.
