Newstalk has confirmed that George Hook has been suspended from his duties at the station.
"The process regarding his comments last week is ongoing."
The broadcaster hit the headlines when commenting on a court case in the UK involving the alleged rape of a 19 year old woman.
Referring to the evidence that she had met a man in a bar and had consensual sex with him before allegedly being raped by someone else, Hook said "Is there no blame to the person who puts themselves in danger?"
Several complaints have been made to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) regarding Mr Hook's comments, including one from the Women's Council of Ireland.
