People can now report anti-social behaviour on the Luas by text.
The service has been launched on a trial basis to try to make passengers feel safer.
From today if customers are travelling on the trams and see something that makes them nervous or uncomfortable, they can report it by texting LUAS to 51444.
Anne Graham, CEO, of National Transport Authority said: "Travelling by public transport and Luas in particular is a great way of getting around the city. However occasionally passengers encounter anti-social behaviour of one sort or another, and we want to make sure when that happens, people they have an easy and effective way of reporting it."
She added: "This new service means that Luas staff can be made aware of these incidents and can respond to them quicker than ever, so that journeys can be even safer and more pleasant for everybody.”
Passengers are asked to detail their location, tram number and what’s happening like a fight or drug use.
The text service is now live and comes ahead of the linking up of the Luas lines in December.
