Indonesia's disaster agency says 832 people are now known to have died after an earthquake and tsunami.
Most of the victims were killed in the city of Palu - on the island of Sulawesi.
The number is expected to rise into the thousands - as many regions are currently out of reach - due to roads being cut off.
The Indonesian president Joko Widodo says the security minister is coordinating the government's response.
"I've called the Chief of the Armed Forces to work together handling the emergency situation including the search and rescue operation evacuation including preparing the basic needs needed."
